Why Hypnosis?

Tap into the power of your subconscious mind.

The answers and insights you need are within you - under the surface.

Behind your conscious awareness, the subconscious mind is processing and filing all your life data - all your perceptions and life experience. Your mental and emotional habits form here - all the patterns, beliefs, and emotions that inform your behaviors. It’s like the supercomputer running the show behind the scenes, and it’s virtually unlimited.

Meanwhile, your conscious mind is more limited with a much narrower focus. It’s a powerful problem solver, specializing in logic and willpower - but its effective processing power depends on available energy. So when you’re tired, stressed, or overwhelmed, subconscious habits can take over, even when you know what you “should” be doing.

We know much of our behavior is driven by how we feel vs. how we think - and emotions, habits, and beliefs are the territory of the subconscious. That’s where hypnosis comes in.

How hypnosis works

In hypnosis, we can turn down the thinking mind while we recruit and integrate deeper aspects of the mind: the subconscious (aka the adaptive unconscious), the body’s consciousness, and even the superconscious.

By bridging the gaps between thinking and feeling, believing and behaving, hypnosis helps you reprogram unwanted thought and behavior patterns and transform limiting beliefs - so change feels natural, and even easy.

It’s not about willpower. It’s about alignment and coherence. When more aspects of your consciousness start working together in harmony to meet your needs at a deeper level, the struggle disappears. When you work with your emotions instead of against them, you feel like doing the things you want to do, and lose the urge for what you don’t.

Let’s explore how hypnosis can help you.

My Why…

I got hypnotized for the first time at 16. When I found out my friend's father used hypnotherapy in his practice, I was super intrigued and immediately asked him if he'd work with me. I was deep into meditation and wanted to get into a deep meditative state quickly and easily. The hypnosis worked like a charm, and those suggestions are actually still operating thirty years later.

At the time, I was blown away by how effective it was to work directly with the subconscious mind this way. I had no idea it would come full circle and become the most meaningful work I've ever done. When I built my own undergraduate curriculum around integrative and East Asian medicine, hypnotherapy was already part of the picture. When I completed my master's in acupuncture, it became unavoidable.

In the acupuncture clinic, what drew me most was the psycho-emotional side - the place where mental health, emotional health, and physical health converge. Chinese medicine maps those connections beautifully, but I kept hitting a ceiling. Patients who genuinely wanted to change their health behaviors couldn't - and they didn't know why. The acupuncture would help for a few days and then everything would return, because the foundation underneath hadn't actually moved.

The emotional patterns, the behavioral loops, the mental stories were still operating upstream of everything - upstream of their body, their nervous system, their whole lived experience. The behavior just didn't change because the emotional and psychological roots hadn't been touched. Acupuncture couldn't fully get there. Hypnosis does.

Hypnosis is a direct line to a deeper intelligence that already exists within you - one that most of us were never taught how to work with.

I've seen what changes when someone finally reconnects with their own inherent power and wisdom. It's like life starts flowing again: the patterns that felt permanent start to move, the behaviors that felt locked start to open, and people find themselves doing things they genuinely couldn't do before.

You already have the power to change. I'm here to help you access it - and step into it.
